Show and Tell Monday:
This week and weekend I spent finishing up two custom orders that I had to get done. The first is a child's rocker for a nursery. The client gave me the wallpaper border to match colors and patterns but also gave me the freedom to do my thing. The second custom order is a full size rocker to be an end of the year teacher gift for a first time Kindergarten teacher. Other than the wording on the seat, I was able to choose the colors and patterns. These two pieces are examples of the kind of painting I did for many, many years but have kind of gotten away from. I have done three full rooms in three different show houses with this kind of furniture, one was even published in Better Homes and Gardens Kid's Rooms. Most of my painting now is shabby chic cottage distressed furniture. But it's always fun to be able to go back and do a few pieces that take a whole lot more time but allow a whole lot more creativity.
Thanks for visiting...

Jennifer! Wow those chairs are amazing! I love what you did with both of them! Look I have painted a chair and maybe I'm challenged but it is not the cake walk I thought it would be! All those curves and grooves! You make it look easy too! Way to go. And I love your new blog!!
